Parque das Nações

What once was a troublesome and dirty area in Lisbon is now one of the more desired areas to leave and to hangout.

With the river Tagus running along this area you will for sure fill great and energized.

Parque das Nações was created to host the Expo 1998 and after this event the buildings were all reused to give us what we have today.

Going on this area the must sees are:

Oceanário de Lisboa – Once consider the best oceanarium in the world, here you will be able to see a diverse quantity of sea life from across the globe. Also in the strucutre there is a temporary show near the entrance.

The aquarium was done by the American architectural office Peter Chermayeff.

In case you are wondering where you can have a bite fear not since in this area you have a lot of opinions.

There are several italian restaurants and also a few more other international cuisines.

I would recommend – if you like chinese – the “Old House”. The food is superb and the service is also of very good quality.

If you want something fast and in budget try the food court of the shopping mall (Centro Comercial Vasco da Gama). There are plenty of options and if you go another level up you will be able to have a meal in the roof area on a very iconic portuguese “fast-food” chain – Portugália.
